Synopsis: Renault India partners with IIT Kanpur to strengthen vehicle research and development by leveraging the institute's National Wind Tunnel Facility for advanced aerodynamic and wind-noise testing, supporting innovation in automotive engineering.

Renault India has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur to enhance its vehicle research and development capabilities through advanced testing and engineering collaboration. The partnership will enable the automaker to utilize IIT Kanpur's National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF) for aerodynamic and wind-noise testing, reinforcing its commitment to developing vehicles tailored to evolving customer expectations and market requirements.

Under the collaboration, Renault India will conduct comprehensive aerodynamic evaluations and wind-noise analyses for its passenger vehicles at the state-of-the-art facility. These tests are expected to help engineers improve vehicle efficiency, stability, cabin comfort, and overall driving performance. By integrating advanced testing into the product development process, the company aims to enhance engineering precision while reducing development timelines for future vehicle programmes.

The agreement also establishes a framework for long-term commercial engagement between Renault India and IIT Kanpur, including provisions related to research collaboration and intellectual property. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange between industry and academia, enabling both organisations to work together on advanced automotive technologies and engineering solutions.
