RRP Defense, Meprolight Partner to Bring Electro-Optics to India

RRP Defense Ltd, and Meprolight Ltd., one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of electro-optical, night vision, and weapons sighting systems, have entered into a collaboration to bring advanced defence technology into India.

The partnership will provide joint distribution, assembly, technology integration, and later on, the localisation of Meprolight’s advanced products within India. The focus will be on improving military and law enforcement capabilities, as well as supporting India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

Under the agreement, Meprolight will transfer key technology to RRP Defence, enabling the assembly, testing and integration of products in Mahape, India. Additionally, both organisations will work together to establish a long-term plan for local production of select electro-optical systems utilizing indigenous components in partnership with RRP Electronics and other ecosystem partners.

This partnership represents a major step forward for India in terms of developing a robust defence capability while achieving technological self-reliance.
