The initiative was conceptualised by SKÅL International Hyderabad to use tourism as a platform for strengthening international relationships and promoting greater awareness of each country's cultural and tourism offerings. It focuses on three primary areas: tourism promotion, cultural exchange and bilateral cooperation.
Under the tourism promotion component, both organisations will explore opportunities to encourage travel between India and Belarus, develop tourism partnerships and increase awareness of destinations and travel experiences in both countries. The initiative is also expected to facilitate connections among travel companies, hospitality businesses and other tourism stakeholders to identify potential areas of commercial collaboration.
The cultural exchange component will focus on encouraging interactions that strengthen mutual understanding and people-to-people connections. These efforts could support greater engagement between cultural institutions, tourism professionals and business communities, while providing opportunities to showcase the heritage and traditions of both countries.
The agreement also seeks to encourage cooperation among tourism stakeholders, institutions and businesses in India and Belarus. By connecting professional networks and industry participants, the partnership aims to create avenues for joint initiatives and international business relationships.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mohan N.S.N. (NSN Mohan), President-designate of SKÅL International for 2027. He is scheduled to assume the organisation's global presidency next year, becoming the first Indian and Asian to hold the position in its 93-year history.
