Synopsis: Tata AutoComp partners with South Korea’s Jahwa Electronics to manufacture advanced EV heater solutions in India, strengthening localized thermal management technologies, electric mobility infrastructure, and the country’s rapidly expanding EV supply chain.

Tata AutoComp Systems has entered into a joint venture with South Korea-based Jahwa Electronics to manufacture advanced Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heaters for electric and hybrid vehicles in India. The partnership is aimed at strengthening India’s electric mobility ecosystem by localizing critical thermal management technologies required for next-generation automotive platforms.

Under the agreement, the joint venture will focus on producing both low-voltage and high-voltage PTC heaters used in electric and hybrid vehicles. These components play a critical role in cabin heating and thermal efficiency management, particularly in EVs where conventional engine-generated heat is unavailable. The collaboration reflects the growing demand for efficient thermal systems as automakers accelerate investments in electrification and advanced mobility technologies.

The partnership combines Jahwa Electronics’ expertise in thermal technologies and magnetic materials with Tata AutoComp’s extensive manufacturing ecosystem, supply chain capabilities, and strong relationships with domestic and global automotive OEMs. Industry experts believe the localization of EV thermal components could help reduce import dependency while improving cost competitiveness for vehicle manufacturers operating in India.

Officials from both companies highlighted India’s rapidly expanding electric and hybrid vehicle market as a major growth driver behind the collaboration. Jahwa Electronics stated that India is emerging as a strategic production and supply hub for EV components, supported by rising investments from both global and domestic automotive manufacturers. Tata AutoComp noted that the partnership aligns with its long-term vision of introducing sustainable and innovative solutions to India’s evolving mobility landscape.

The development also supports the broader push toward local manufacturing under India’s electric mobility and “Make in India” initiatives. As EV adoption increases, demand for advanced thermal management systems, battery cooling technologies, and energy-efficient vehicle components is expected to grow significantly across passenger and commercial vehicle segments.

Tata AutoComp has been actively expanding its EV-focused portfolio through partnerships and technology collaborations across battery systems, electric drivetrains, charging infrastructure, and thermal solutions. Analysts believe the joint venture with Jahwa Electronics could strengthen India’s position in the global EV supply chain while supporting the country’s long-term clean mobility ambitions.
