Toyota Kirloskar Motor has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government to establish a 300-acre technology and manufacturing hub near Bengaluru, marking a major expansion of the company’s long-term India strategy. The proposed facility, named the “TKM Bizintel Hub,” will be developed at KWIN City along the Doddaballapur–Dabaspet corridor and is expected to strengthen India’s position in Toyota’s global manufacturing and engineering network.
The upcoming hub will focus on advanced vehicle testing, digital transformation initiatives, intelligent manufacturing systems, and next-generation mobility solutions. Toyota aims to integrate modern engineering capabilities with Karnataka’s strong information technology ecosystem and skilled workforce to enhance supply chain efficiency and manufacturing competitiveness.

Toyota Kirloskar plans to invest nearly ₹1,200 crore in the project over the next five years. The initiative is also expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to Karnataka’s broader industrial development goals. Reports indicate that the first phase alone could generate around 200 jobs, while supporting ancillary industries and future technology-led investments in the region.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Industries Minister M.B. Patil, highlighting the state government’s push to position Karnataka as a leading destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation-driven investments. KWIN City itself is being developed as an integrated industrial and smart technology zone spread across thousands of acres with a focus on manufacturing, healthcare, education, and innovation ecosystems.
Toyota stated that the new hub aligns with its localisation strategy, sustainable mobility goals, and India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives. The company currently operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi, Karnataka, producing models such as the Innova HyCross, Fortuner, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
