TN Signs 158 MoUs Worth Rs 43,844 Cr, Adds Trainer Aircraft Unit

Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister M K Stalin presided over 158 MOUs worth a cumulative ₹43,844 crores and the creation of 1,00,709 jobs in the state during the TN Rising Investment Conclave held recently.

Sakthi Aircraft Industry is among the major investing entities to construct a sophisticated two-seater trainer aircraft manufacturing facility in Tiruppur district. This ₹500 crore project is anticipated to provide high-skilled employment for approximately 1200 individuals and be Tamil Nadu's first production facility for trainer aircrafts.

Tamil Nadu MoUs signed at the TN investment summit, including ₹43,844 crore MoUs and the TN aircraft manufacturing initiative with a two-seater trainer aircraft unit, highlight Tamil Nadu industry growth and significant TN investment deals.

The Tamil Nadu government stated, “At the TN Rising – Coimbatore Conclave, Sakthi Aircraft exchanged MoU in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin, unlocking a breakthrough moment for India’s aviation future”.

According to the State Government, with this initiative, Tamil Nadu will be leading the nation in the aerospace revolution and developing indigenous technology to fulfil regional needs and support national objectives.

Cingularity Aerospace plans to build a large manufacturing facility for advanced drone technologies in Krishnagiri district at a cost of ₹50 crores and create 500 highly skilled employment opportunities. This investment will further enhance the already fast-growing Aerospace, UAV & Defense Manufacturing Ecosystem that exists within the state of Tamil Nadu.

In Coimbatore district, Mindox Techno has signed an MoU for an investment of ₹398 crores to establish a manufacturing unit for semiconductor equipment, thereby generating 460 jobs.

In addition, Caliber Interconnects, one of the world’s leading providers of deep technology engineering solutions, has committed to a further investment of ₹3000 crore towards setting up a large semiconductor & power electronics manufacturing plant which will produce 4000 highly skilled jobs.

Other prominent attendees included Bosch Global Software Technologies, who will create a Centre of Excellence for software-defined vehicles. MSD and Mahindra & Mahindra also announced plans to build Research & Development centres specifically for software-defined vehicles and advanced automotive technologies, while the LMW Group announced an expansion project.

In his remarks at the conclave, the state's (Maharashtra) Chief Minister stated that the government has built a reputation among companies and investors by working hard for four consecutive years.

“I welcome new investors. I thank those who are investing again... Tamil Nadu government will always support industrial growth, and the DMK government's aim is to elevate the state on par with global standards”, he added.
