Chhattisgarh is making a strategic shift from its traditional industrial identity to become a notable player in India’s technology and innovation landscape.

The state government has established a vital partnership through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which it signed with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to create a successful startup ecosystem that includes deep tech companies and advanced electronic manufacturing operations in the state.

Chhattisgarh startups are set to benefit from the STPI pact, strengthening Innovation hubs India and boosting the Tech startup ecosystem through Hardware innovation India, Startup policy Chhattisgarh, STPI collaboration, enhanced Digital infrastructure India, State startup initiatives, and the development of Emerging tech hubs.

Chhattisgarh aims to construct its digital network, business-friendly regulations and strong electronic governance frameworks to build a workforce development system that attracts talent and produces high-paying jobs in fields beyond mining and agriculture.

The MoU establishes two main organizations which will be a Centre of Entrepreneurship and an Electronics System Design and Development centre.

The CoE will focus on nurturing startups in cutting-edge domains such as artificial intelligence, smart city solutions, smart agriculture, and med-tech based on the state’s forest and medicinal products, marrying technological innovation with regional strengths.

This centre will provide aspiring entrepreneurs with essential resources like incubation support, mentorship, funding guidance, and access to advanced laboratory facilities, making it easier to convert ideas into scalable enterprises without relocating to larger metropolitan hubs.

The ESDD centre will strengthen hardware innovation by supporting 30–40 hardware startups and MSMEs annually with product design, prototyping, skill development, and capacity-building resources that are typically hard to access in early stages.

The STPI national experience from its multiple centre sites will enable Chhattisgarh to connect local innovators with national industry networks, which will help them, achieve growth and compete throughout India.

The partnership between these two organizations will enhance the startup ecosystem of the state while decreasing youth outmigration and establishing Chhattisgarh as a new center for technology-driven economic development and innovative research.
