DPIIT Signs MoUs with Tripura Startups to Boost Innovation

The Directorate of Information Technology organized an interactive session with Shri Sanjiv Singh, IRS, Joint Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India, at IT Bhavan in Agartala recently to advance Tripura's startup ecosystem development efforts.

The initiative provides emerging entrepreneurs with direct access to national-level policymakers and institutional support. Shri Singh provided support to Tripura startup founders by explaining funding methods and growth strategies, together with his expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation.

DPIIT Tripura startups are driving the Tripura innovation ecosystem through startup MoUs Tripura and DPIIT partnership initiatives, aligned with Startup policy India to foster innovation growth Tripura, strengthen Government startup support, expand Startup MoUs India, and build a vibrant entrepreneur ecosystem for Tripura economic development.

Shri Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, emphasized State initiatives that create a dynamic startup environment, while IFS Director of IT Jeya Ragul Geshan B presented Startup Tripura details together with its accomplishments and future plans according to the Tripura Startup Policy 2025.

The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion is committed to providing comprehensive assistance, which includes organizing a North East Start-Up Conclave at Agartala together with dedicated staff members and funding support for startups located in North Eastern regions.

The event featured ten new startups, which presented their products while allowing attendees to engage with both government officials and business representatives.

The signing of MoUs between DIT, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Tripura Campus and the National Law University (NLU), Tripura, under the New Generation Innovation Network (NGIN) initiative served as the main event highlight, which promotes research-driven innovation and incubation support in higher education research.

The Tripura Startup Policy, which supports all business sectors, aims to create an ecosystem which enables all people to participate in innovative activities. More than 100 startups received approval from the program, while multiple companies obtained Proof-of-Concept grants together with financial assistance.

The Startup Venture Fund provides Rs. 50 crore in total funding, which includes Rs. 15 crore from the State to support businesses that need to develop their operations. The integration of NFSU and NLU into the NGIN system enables Tripura to create new business opportunities through knowledge-based workplaces, which drive economic progress through innovative solutions.
