Odisha Approves 27 Industrial Projects Worth Rs 2.45 Lakh Cr
Odisha approves 27 industrial projects worth ₹2.47 lakh crore across 15 districts, spanning AI, data centres, energy, steel, semiconductors and healthcare, with the projects expected to generate over 50,000 jobs.
The Odisha government has approved 27 industrial projects involving a cumulative investment of ₹2,47,115.70 crore across 15 districts, with the proposed projects expected to generate more than 50,000 jobs.
The projects were cleared at a High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on September 23. The approved investments span data centres and artificial intelligence (AI), power and renewable energy, steel, semiconductors, green hydrogen, healthcare, chemicals, textiles, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing.

The IT, information technology-enabled services (ITeS) and data-centre segment accounts for the largest share of the proposed investment. Four projects in the sector involve a combined investment of around ₹1,42,941 crore.
Among them, High Density Datacentre has proposed an integrated data centre in Khurda with an investment of about ₹1.05 lakh crore. HCL Technologies is set to establish an AI-optimised data centre in Khurda with an investment of ₹14,257 crore. Sentraforge AI has proposed a data centre and global capability centre in Puri, while RKD Construction is planning a data centre in Cuttack.
The power and renewable energy sector is another major component of the investment pipeline. Four projects in this segment involve a combined investment of ₹54,287.70 crore, according to officials. Two steel and downstream projects planned in Sundargarh are expected to bring an additional ₹14,000 crore of investment.
The approved projects also cover emerging and technology-intensive industries. These include semiconductor manufacturing, lab-grown diamonds, green hydrogen, chemicals, healthcare, textiles, shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing. The geographical spread across 15 districts is intended to expand industrial activity beyond established clusters.
The healthcare sector will also receive a major investment through a proposed 1,000-bed multi-speciality hospital by the Adani Foundation in Khurda. The project carries an estimated investment of ₹2,150 crore.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the geographical and sectoral diversity of the approved projects reflects the state government’s focus on expanding investment opportunities and promoting balanced regional industrial development.

The latest approvals add to Odisha’s efforts to attract investments across traditional manufacturing as well as emerging sectors such as AI, data infrastructure and semiconductors.
