
Bihar Govt Signs Rs 468 Cr MoUs at AI Impact Summit
- Bihar signed ₹468 crore worth of MoUs with tech companies and IIT Patna at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to strengthen its AI and technology ecosystem
- Partnerships under the GCC and IT Policies are expected to create 10,000+ jobs and train 50,000+ youth in AI skills

The Government of Bihar recently signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹468 crore at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026, the world’s largest AI-focused event.
The state signed agreements with top technology firms and the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) to establish itself as a center for technological development and further scientific research.
The Bihar MoUs signed at the AI Impact Summit aim to boost Bihar investments, promote digital governance Bihar, integrate AI in government, strengthen tech investments India, and energize the startup ecosystem Bihar.
An official statement read, “To promote innovation, incubation and employment, Bihar has signed MoU of Rs. 60 crore for setting up Bihar AI CoE and 250 Crore for setting up a research park at IIT Patna. For setting up the Bihar AI coe, Tiger Analytics will be Industry Partner and IIT Patna will be Academic Partner”.
The Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar IT Policy 2024 lead to MoU agreements with major GCC and IT organizations which include Red Cyber (₹103 crore), GrowQR (₹30 crore), and CIPL (₹25 crore).
The partnerships will create more than 10000 job openings in new technology fields, while AI-related skill development programs will prepare over 50000 young people for future employment, according to Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit.

The five-day summit is hosting CEOs from over 100 technology firms and representatives from more than 135 countries, which provides a global platform for Bihar innovators to meet with artificial intelligence leaders. The state is investigating how to use AI for better governance because it will improve public programs and service delivery.
At the summit, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary opened the Bihar State Pavilion while Union Ministers Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Giriraj Singh conducted the official proceedings. The event included participation from senior state officials and IIT Patna faculty members, who included Prof. Pritam Kumar and Prof. T N Singh as attendees.
“To develop Bihar as the technology hub of northeastern India, the state government has undertaken several major initiatives. These include the announcement of a 'Mega AI Core of Engineering' under the Bihar AI Mission, signing of agreements with industry partners and academic partners, signing of investment intent letters with leading investors, unveiling of state policies, launch of the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, and the establishment of a Research Park at IIT Patna, among others”, noted Pratyay Amrit.
The new Bihar GCC Policy 2026, Semiconductor Policy 2026 and IT Policy 2026, which the state government recently approved, now make Bihar more attractive to international technology companies.
The state has developed into a major technology center for eastern and northeastern India, which serves as a foundation for its growing influence in India's AI-based industrial and innovation systems.
