Gujarat Eyes Global Manufacturing and Tech Partnerships in US
Gujarat seeks global partnerships in semiconductors, AI, data centres and advanced manufacturing during CM Bhupendra Patel’s US visit. The state also engages the Gujarati diaspora and promotes opportunities ahead of Vibrant Gujarat 2027.
Gujarat is stepping up efforts to attract global partnerships in manufacturing and technology as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel engages with technology companies and members of the Gujarati diaspora during his ongoing visit to the United States. The outreach focuses on strengthening international collaboration and positioning the state as a destination for technology-led industrial growth.
During the third day of his US visit, Patel held a series of engagements with leading American technology companies. Discussions centred on opportunities to expand cooperation in strategic and emerging areas, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres and skill development. The state is seeking partnerships that can contribute not only capital but also technology, expertise and long-term industrial capabilities.

The Gujarat delegation is also using the visit to build momentum ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. The state is presenting the summit as a platform for global companies and investors to explore manufacturing and technology opportunities while developing deeper institutional and business partnerships.
An important part of the outreach is engagement with the Gujarati diaspora in the US. India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, hosted Patel and members of the diaspora at India House in Washington. The interaction focused on Gujarat’s efforts to attract global partnerships in manufacturing and technology and on strengthening ties with the overseas Gujarati community.
The state is increasingly targeting technology-intensive sectors as part of its broader industrial development strategy. Semiconductor manufacturing, AI, digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing are emerging as key areas where Gujarat aims to establish stronger connections with global technology companies.
The emphasis on data centres also reflects the growing importance of digital infrastructure to Gujarat’s economic ambitions. The state has been working to expand its digital ecosystem and attract investments that can support the increasing demand for computing, connectivity and technology services.

Alongside infrastructure and investment, skill development remains a major component of the state’s technology strategy. Gujarat is seeking collaborations that can help develop a skilled workforce capable of supporting advanced manufacturing and emerging technology industries.
The US engagements therefore form part of a broader strategy to move beyond conventional investment-led growth towards long-term technology partnerships. By combining Gujarat’s industrial base with global technological capabilities, the state aims to strengthen its position in high-value manufacturing and emerging technology sectors while creating new avenues for international collaboration.
