
Hindustan Zinc Inks MoU with Rajasthan Heritage Body
- HZL and RHA to develop Poonchari ka Lautha over three years
- Restoration, gardens, Parikrama Marg, and visitor facilities
- HZL initiatives reached 23 lakh people in 2,300+ villages
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a company under the Vedanta Group, has signed a MoU with Rajasthan Heritage Authority (RHA) to aid in the development of the Heritage Corridor at Poonchari ka Lautha in Deeg district, Rajasthan. Spanning three years, the MoU is valued at ₹85 crore and will be funded using HZL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Onkar Singh Lakhawat, Chairman of RHA; Ram Ranjan, CEO of RHA; Arun Misra, CEO of HZL; Anupam Nidhi, CSR Head of HZL; and other officials from both establishments.
The project invests in the cultural and spiritual landscape of Poonchari ka Lautha, an important location in Govardhan Parikrama in Braj. The development includes renovation and restoration work, botanical and horticultural gardens and banks, improvements to the Parikrama Marg, visitor housing, and new complexes and walking paths for pilgrims.

"Rajasthan is home to some of India’s cultural and historical landmarks, and it is our responsibility to preserve them for posterity. The support from Hindustan Zinc will accelerate our efforts in developing the Heritage Corridor at Poonchari ka Lautha into a hub that safeguards history and enhances visitor experience. This collaboration sets a positive example of how industry and government can come together to conserve heritage while fostering sustainable tourism", stated Onkar Singh Lakhawat.

The initiative allows HZL to continue its track record of social contribution. HZL is already engaged in social investment in education, health, women's capacity building, water conservation, and sustainability. By FY25, HZL's CSR projects reached over 23 lakh lives in over 2,300 villages, demonstrating HZL's contribution to community development efforts.
