
India and Qatar Review Bilateral Ties Amid West Asia Tensions
India and Qatar review trade, investment, energy, education and cultural cooperation during the sixth round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi, while exchanging views on regional and multilateral issues.
India and Qatar reviewed their bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments during the sixth round of Foreign Office Consultations held in New Delhi. The discussions covered political engagement, trade, investment, energy cooperation, consular affairs, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
The consultations were co-chaired by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary for Consular, Passport and Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs at the Ministry of External Affairs, and Dr. Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi, Secretary-General of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting provided a platform for both countries to assess ongoing cooperation and identify opportunities to strengthen their bilateral partnership.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and multilateral matters of mutual interest, including developments in West Asia. The discussions reflected continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries amid evolving regional circumstances. India and Qatar maintain historically close relations supported by cooperation across political, economic and social sectors. Their strategic partnership encompasses trade, investment and energy, alongside educational and cultural exchanges.
