India’s growing engagement with Africa is emerging as a stabilising force in an increasingly volatile global environment, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasised, highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.

Speaking on India-Africa relations, Jaishankar noted that the deepening partnership between the two regions sends a “message of stability” at a time when global uncertainties, from geopolitical conflicts to economic disruptions, continue to intensify. The relationship, he indicated, is rooted not just in diplomacy but in shared development priorities and long-standing historical ties.

India’s engagement with Africa spans multiple sectors, including trade, investment, capacity building, defence cooperation, and digital infrastructure. Over the years, the partnership has evolved into a comprehensive development model, focusing on skill development, education, healthcare, and technology transfer. This approach distinguishes India’s engagement as collaborative and demand-driven rather than transactional.
