Maharashtra Attracts ₹15,600 Crore Investment in Solar Manufacturing

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis supervised the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth INR 15,600 crore to improve solar manufacturing in the state. The first MoU, with Jupiter International, includes an investment of INR 10,900 crore to set up a solar wafer, cell, and module manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur.

This project is expected to create 8,308 jobs and make Maharashtra a leader in renewable energy. The second MoU, with LNK Green Energy, commits INR 4,700 crore for a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Auric, MITL. This will generate 2,500 direct jobs and increase clean energy production.

These agreements are part of 10 MoUs signed by Maharashtra. They are expected to attract over INR 42,000 crore in investments and create more than 26,000 jobs in areas like data centers, solar energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure. Fadnavis pointed out Maharashtra’s rise as India’s “Data Centre Capital” and “Solar Energy Integration Capital.” He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for building investor trust and promoting national development.

The state government promised to ensure smooth project execution and to create an environment that supports innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth. These initiatives show Maharashtra’s determination to be a model of progress and resilience through teamwork with industry and citizens.
