Samsung, Videotex Partner to Make Tizen OS Smart TVs in India

Videotex International has disclosed that it has teamed up with Samsung to build Smart TVs running on Samsung's Tizen operating system at its two locations in Greater Noida. Recently, it said the Samsung Videotex partnership was a small step to build India's television manufacturing ecosystem.

Videotex said the partnership brings Samsung's technology operating system to its expertise in design, development, and high-volume production. The partnership wants to increase the presence of Tizen OS TVs India and support the government's push for local manufacturing.

The partnership will enable the production of Tizen OS TVs India, combining Samsung smart TV India technology with Videotex TV manufacturing expertise to boost Make in India TVs.

Jooyoung Kim, Corporate VP, Tizen Licensing Group in Visual Display Division, Samsung stated, "We are excited to collaborate with Videotex to expand the reach of Tizen OS in India. This partnership leverages Videotex’s strong manufacturing capabilities to bring innovative, high-quality TVs to Indian households, enhancing their entertainment experience with Samsung’s premium Tizen OS and its unique features including Samsung TV Plus and Bixby".

Videotex is already a significant manufacturer for several renowned consumer brands. It has on its client list Havells Group (Lloyd), Reliance Group (BPL and Reconnect), Vijay Sales (Vise), Daiwa, and more than 25 other clients. Based on this, Visualites is establishing itself as one of the leading manufacturers of TVs for both local and global accounts.

This Samsung Videotex deal aims to expand smart TV production India, delivering Tizen OS smart TVs through Samsung India manufacturing.

The Greater Noida plants have automated assembly lines, modern research and development labs, injection moulding units, and testing centres with a robust quality control process. Videotex noted these will enable a seamless process of production while guaranteeing the highest quality for the new Tizen-based Smart use TVs.
