
UP Pushes Pharma Manufacturing with Massive Investment Drive

Uttar Pradesh has developed into an important pharmaceutical production center for India through its successful completion of Pharma Conclave 1.0, which took place in Lucknow.
The rise of Uttar Pradesh pharma manufacturing is driving UP pharmaceutical investment, supporting India pharma industry growth, strengthening the pharma manufacturing ecosystem India, and boosting overall UP industrial investment.
The event united pharmaceutical companies with industry bodies, policymakers, regulators, research institutions and investors to create a long-term plan for developing an internationally competitive pharmaceutical industry in the state.
The conclave started with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, senior ministers and industry leaders who together demonstrated the government's commitment to advance healthcare manufacturing.
The discussion showed that Uttar Pradesh has become an attractive business location for pharmaceutical companies because of its better governance, law enforcement and industrial support policies.

The event dedicated its primary attention to establishing infrastructure which meets international standards to benefit the sector. The State government accelerates Lalitpur Pharma Park development through UPSIDA because industry representatives requested this action.
The project will start with phase I, which includes 353 acres for formulation units bulk drugs and common infrastructure facilities, whereas the phase II will develop a 1465-acre area. The State uses its 8000-acre land bank to attract companies which want to establish permanent operations for producing pharmaceuticals.
YEIDA is building a 350-acre Medical Device Park and a 250-acre Pharma Formulation Park, which will operate near Noida International Airport to streamline their logistical operations and export activities. The conclave generated investment interest worth almost ₹10,000 crore while 11 MoUs were signed for pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
The pharmaceutical ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh requires development through three main elements, which industry leaders and scientists identified as essential elements for pharmaceutical research and development.
