Jaishankar Holds India-France-UAE Trilateral Talks on Space, AI

India, France and the UAE review trilateral cooperation in AI, space, health sciences, energy and culture during a ministerial meeting in New York, while discussing developments in West Asia.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar participates in the India-France-UAE trilateral ministerial meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan represent their respective countries at the meeting.

The three ministers review progress in trilateral cooperation across several areas of mutual interest, including artificial intelligence, space, health sciences, energy, culture and heritage. The discussions focus on identifying opportunities for practical collaboration by leveraging the countries’ shared interests and complementary capabilities.

Jaishankar says the meeting provides an opportunity to advance cooperation across these emerging and strategic sectors. India and France have been expanding collaboration in human spaceflight, advanced technologies and space-industry engagement. Recent bilateral discussions also focus on strengthening cooperation between their space agencies and industries, providing a wider foundation for potential trilateral initiatives.

The ministers also discuss the situation in West Asia and underline the importance of strengthening coordination on issues affecting the region. The engagement takes place amid wider diplomatic consultations at the UN General Assembly, where India, France and the UAE continue to coordinate on areas of common interest.

The three countries reaffirm their commitment to building constructive relations through concrete initiatives and agree to hold meetings at regular intervals to review progress across the identified areas. The decision provides a framework for sustained ministerial-level engagement and follow-up on cooperation.
