Amazon Global Selling India has solidified further engagement with the Indian administration to enhance e-commerce exports from the country.

Amazon signed new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with key export promotion councils and MSME bodies, such as the MSME Commissionerate of Gujarat, to offer deeper support for small and medium businesses, Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India said.

Amazon India’s export MoU and partnerships with FIEO and Gujarat MSME reflect its strong government tie-up and exports strategy, aimed at boosting e-commerce exports in India and enhancing Indian MSME export support.

Srinidhi Kalvapudi stated, "This year, we have signed an MoU with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), the apex body of exporters in India. With them, we are planning a lot of activities across different places".

He added, "Exports have always been recognized as a key economic growth engine. The government's recognition of e-commerce exports as a separate category in 2023 reflects its seriousness about this sector. The RBI's simplification of compliance has been an important step".

Kalvapudi further stated that Amazon's role in working with the government is a continuous partnership to make India a global destination for e-commerce exports.

"We hope to sign a few more with other state governments and export promotion councils. Be it in terms of easing compliance, partnerships, or sustained presence in export and manufacturing clusters, it's an ongoing collaboration", he noted.

The company partners with both central and state authorities to help tackle challenges that impact the industry including compliance, logistics, and awareness of exporters. He also noted that several recent reforms, such as the easing of compliance norms for the EDP by the Reserve Bank of India, to improve business conditions for exporters.

Through Amazon Global Selling, Indian MSMEs can currently sell to customers outside India across 18 international marketplaces from the US, the UK, and alternative important markets in Asia and Europe.

Kalvapudi demonstrated that providing technology-enabled tools while training exporters to succeed in becoming global sellers remains a core principle of Amazon Global Selling for Indian exporters.

"This journey demonstrates India's growing manufacturing and entrepreneurial strength, and how technology can enable small businesses to succeed globally", he stated.

Underlining Amazon’s long-term vision in India he further added, the company is committed to supporting India’s vision of reaching USD 1 trillion in merchandise exports by 2030, with USD 200–300 billion anticipated from e-commerce.

Amazon, aims to support USD 80 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports by 2030 and has already exceeded its previous commitment of USD 20 billion, well-ahead of the 2025 commitment, a significant milestone for the growth of digital exports from India.
