India and the UAE discuss expanding bilateral trade, investment and business partnerships as both countries seek to deepen economic cooperation and build on growing commercial ties.
India and the United Arab Emirates have discussed ways to further expand bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation as both countries continue to strengthen their economic partnership.
The discussions took place during a meeting between India’s Consul General in Dubai, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, and UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri on October 5. The meeting focused on identifying opportunities to deepen trade and investment flows and strengthen business partnerships between the two countries.

The engagement comes shortly after the 14th meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments, held in Mumbai on September 28. The task force reviewed progress under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), ongoing investment projects and opportunities to increase two-way investment.
Bilateral trade between India and the UAE reached $101.25 billion in FY 2025-26, while non-oil trade stood at $76.2 billion in 2025. The two countries have set a shared target of increasing bilateral trade to $200 billion by 2032.
Investment cooperation is also expanding across several sectors. Recent discussions have identified energy, industry, logistics, infrastructure, technology, artificial intelligence, space, food security, agricultural innovation and startups as areas with potential to generate greater two-way investment. The two sides are also working to facilitate investment through the UAE-India Fast Track Mechanism, which helps address issues affecting companies and investors in both markets.
Financial cooperation remains another important component of the partnership. India and the UAE are working on initiatives involving local-currency settlement, payment and messaging system integration and central bank digital currencies. The initiatives are intended to make cross-border trade and investment more efficient and resilient.

The two countries are also advancing major investment projects. These include a food park in Gujarat, an integrated aluminium complex in Odisha and investments by UAE financial institutions in India. The sides have also explored opportunities in aviation and logistics, including the development of an aviation and logistics hub at Dholera in Gujarat.
The latest meeting reinforces the momentum in India-UAE economic relations following several high-level exchanges in 2026. Both countries continue to use the CEPA and other bilateral mechanisms to expand commercial ties, encourage investment and strengthen cooperation across emerging sectors.
