  • SanchiConnect, Tamil Nadu govt, and iTNT team up to boost deeptech innovation in tier-2 and tier-3 cities
  • Startups gain mentorship, capital, and market access to scale from early-stage to commercial success
  • The initiative aims to decentralize innovation and position Tamil Nadu as a leader in India’s deeptech sector

SanchiConnect has entered into a strategic alliance with the Tamil Nadu government and the Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT) to promote the state’s deeptech startup ecosystem, especially in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities, by facilitating technological innovations.

The initiative will be a long-term plan for deeptech entrepreneurs in small towns to get structured support, thus making them able to create, validate, and even scale their ventures to the extent of being globally competitive.

The collaboration aims at tackling the primary difficulties that startup founders face in developing cities, which are, among others, limited the availability of funds, enterprise customers, and experienced mentorship.

With this partnership, the startups will get to leverage SanchiConnect’s vast network comprising of investors, corporations, and experts in the field while simultaneously receiving institutional support and policies that are favorable from both Tamil Nadu and iTNT.

The purpose of the collaboration is to take startups from the very beginning of experimentation to the stage of being ready for commercial sale and thus, adoption by enterprises.

Founders taking part in the program will be given personalized coaching according to their area of technology, plus assistance in product validation, market entry strategies, and scaling up the business.

The project will also create important industry networks which will help the startups to get their products from development to market. Furthermore, the collaboration will allow the startups to reach both the national and international markets thereby making Tamil Nadu a significant part of India's deeptech growth tale.

Dr Sunil k Shekhawat, Co-Founder & CEO of SanchiConnect, stated, “Tamil Nadu has consistently demonstrated a strong vision for nurturing innovation. This partnership with the state government and iTNT allows us to take structured deeptech enablement into tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where entrepreneurial talent is abundant but access to markets, capital, and mentorship is often limited”.

“By combining SanchiConnect's ecosystem of investors, corporates, and domain experts with the state's institutional support, we aim to create a sustainable pipeline of globally competitive deeptech startups. Our focus is not just acceleration, but long-term capacity building that enables founders to scale responsibly, and contribute meaningfully to India's deeptech leadership”, he added.

The project is in line with Tamil Nadu's plan to spread innovation, support economic growth that includes everyone, and create a deeptech ecosystem that can withstand the test of time and be accessed by the whole state, thus unearthing talent in the region and facilitating India's dominance in technology.
